Motion Control Systems

Motion control can basically be defined as moving the moving parts of a machine in a controlled manner. Motion control systems are important for establishing the link between accuracy of motion, power and efficiency.
In order to fulfill the machine function, the independent parts moved by the motion control must work and move in harmony and order. In order to ensure this harmony and order, motion control systems consist of the following components.
Controller is the brain of the control system. It is responsible for deciding the action to be made and generating the commands that control this movement. In addition, controllers are capable of receiving commands and feedback from the central computer that controls the production or machine in the higher hierarchy. Multiple controllers can work together in a complex system.
Driver is the intermediate unit that allows the relevant motors to perform the requested motion by referencing the control signal generated by the controller.
Motor, is responsible for translating the demands from the driver into action. There are motor types such as step motor, servo motor, linear actuator according to the shape of the movement.
